We were voted a New England Top Attraction!

We were so excited to learn that the Evans had been named a finalist in New England Travel's Inaugural Readers’ Choice Awards! We were up against a museum, a Santa-themed amusement park and two spooky Salem tours. Your nominations helped us become a finalist and your voting helped us earn 3rd place! New England Travel editors wrote that "based on the tidal wave of nominations it received, the Schooner Isaac H. Evans, which sails from Rockland, Maine, is the attraction to beat." The spooky Salem tours beat us out but we were honored to be the only Maine finalist in the voting and so appreciative of the votes that helped us place 3rd!

The Evans has had its own Facebook page for a couple months now (in addition to some group pages that people have set up for the boat and specifically for knitting trips). I've been trying to post photos often and have been succeeding. We'll see how I do after next Monday when spring outfitting goes into high gear!

We're Counting Down!

Happy Valentine's Day!

One of the things I love to do each summer is collect treasures from our lobster bake beaches. My favorite finds are small smooth stones, "wish" rocks (rocks with a complete white band), sea glass (what my mom calls "mermaid tears"), and heart-shaped rocks. I rarely return to the schooner without my pockets filled. After 17 years of windjamming, I have quite a collection!

This Valentine's Day I wanted to share a photo of just a few of my treasures, especially heart-shaped rocks, and encourage you to pull out your calendar and review our sailing schedule so you can join us this summer and start (or add to!) your very own collection.
